The Spark building stands as a symbol of Christchurch's resurgence following the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake, marking a significant return to the city center. Positioned prominently at the intersection of Hereford Street, Colombo Street, and Cathedral Square, it commands attention and revitalises the urban landscape.

Designed to accommodate 500 Spark staff, the building contributes to the vibrancy of Cathedral Square and enhances the overall urban experience. Its architectural design mirrors Spark's innovative and forward-thinking ethos, with a crystalline, faceted form composed of multiple layers of fritted glass. This design choice imbues the structure with a contemporary aesthetic, offering depth and richness to its appearance.

The play of light and shadow on the glass façade creates a shimmering effect, reflecting the ever-changing nature of modern virtual communications. As one moves around the building, the interplay of parallax and Moiré patterns adds to the dynamic visual experience, symbolizing the fluidity of digital communication streams.

At street level, the building features retail spaces with lofty ceilings, inviting pedestrians to engage with the urban environment. Additionally, a rooftop bar and restaurant capitalize on the building's prime location, offering patrons panoramic views of the surrounding area.
